Allscar Skin Care Gel is a fast drying, clear, topical silicone gel. It helps in the treatment of scars caused by burns, surgeries, acne scars and other injuries, while also helping to maintain the moisture balance of the skin.
Allscar Skin Care Gel helps to flatten, soften and smooth keloid and hypertrophic scars, acne scars (such as those caused by general surgical procedures, trauma wounds and burns), relieve pain, itching and discomfort of scarring and reduce the associated redness.
Allscar Skin Care Gel is a lightweight, non-oily formula. It can be easily applied to all skin areas, including the face, joints and folds.
It dries quickly to form an invisible layer, leaving the skin feeling clean and silky.
Thanks to its moisturizing and strengthened formula with amino acid complexes, it supports the repair of the skin and helps scar scars appear softer and smoother.
Made from the same simple long chain polymers in the form of a topical silicone gel dressing, Allscar Skin Care Gel is supplied in a tube.
Remove the cap of the tube; Wash the affected area and dry it gently.
Allscar Skin Care Gel should only be applied on clean and dry skin.
Apply a small amount of gel in a very thin layer on the scar; Wipe off the excess with a tissue so that it does not stain the clothes.
Apply once in the morning and evening for at least 2 months; however, some resistant scars may require longer treatment.
Ideally, it is used as soon as the wound has healed and immediately after the skin surface integrity has been established. It can also be used on immature, distinctive red scars in the active healing process that continues for up to 2 years after wound closure.
It supports treatment and prevention throughout this process.
Can Allscar Gel be used on open wounds?

Scars are formed as a result of normal wound healing. No matter how carefully and duly repaired an incision or surgical wound caused by an injury, a permanent scar is always formed. However, it is important that this permission is acceptable, concealable and vague. The art of plastic surgery can only provide this. There is no scarless surgery. There is no suture technique called aesthetic suture. Sutures cannot be placed with laser.
The quality of the scar that will occur as a result of wound healing differs from person to person and according to body parts. Therefore, it is not possible to predict how the scar will result. It may be tense and irregular in the beginning, but over time it becomes smoother. The scars, which are initially red and raised, become softer and pale in 12-18 months.
The relationship between scar and sunlight is an important issue. Scarred areas are more sensitive to sunlight than normal skin. It is recommended for people who have had surgery to avoid strong and direct sunlight (such as sunbathing on the beach at noon) for 12-18 months. In daytime conditions, the face can be protected from the sun with high-value sunscreen creams (SPF, Sun Protection Factor) and wide-brimmed hats.
In the early stages of wound healing, sunbathing or tanning in ultraviolet salons has a detrimental effect on the scarred areas. In such a case, the scarred areas gain a mottled appearance. It also causes itching in hot scarred areas. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid sunburn and tanning in the early period.
Scars cannot be removed. The use of recommended silicone gels and some devices can improve the appearance of the scar to some extent, but it can never be eliminated. For example, there is no method that can remove burn scars, tattoo spots and postpartum cracks. However, the appearance of scars can be corrected to a large extent.
Surgical treatment of scars, called Scar Revision, for whatever reason, is one of the difficult subjects of plastic surgery. No scar can be completely destroyed. In Plastic Surgery, the appearance of scars can be made more acceptable, less obvious by massage and surgery, or they can be hidden in natural anatomical areas such as the scalp. Many factors such as the size and depth of the wound, the blood supply of the anatomical region of the wound, the thickness and color of the person’s skin, and the direction of the scar have an effect on the formation of scars. Scars that do not look good at first become more acceptable over time. The extent to which the scar will be accepted by the person may also differ from person to person.
It is recommended to wait 6-12 months after the first surgery or injury before deciding on scar revision surgery.
Scar revision is the subject of plastic surgery. All details, possible positive and negative results should be discussed in detail with the chosen physician. A person should set his expectations very well.
As with any surgery, there are risks with this surgery. Under normal conditions, scars that are not very large and wide can be operated under local anesthesia. However, there is the possibility of infection, bleeding, and recurrence.
Keloid can be defined as an exaggerated wound healing event. The scar is usually thick, irregular and protruding beyond the wound margins and is itchy. It may be reddish or darker in color according to the surrounding tissues.
Keloid can occur anywhere on the body. However, it mostly develops on the front of the trunk, shoulders, back and earlobes. It occurs more frequently in dark-skinned people. As age progresses, the chance of its occurrence decreases.
Keloid, which is a type of abnormal wound healing, is treated by injection of steroid type drugs into the wound. This process reduces the reddish color and itching of the scar tissue. In some cases, it may cause shrinkage. If this treatment does not respond, the scar tissue is surgically removed and the wound is sutured layer by layer. This is a procedure that can be done with local anesthesia. The person can return to work in a short time within 1-2 days. In large scars, closure with skin transplantation may be necessary.
Whichever method is used, keloids have a tendency to recur. Sometimes it can occur in larger sizes than before. For this reason, a combination of both surgery and simultaneous steroid injections and radiation therapy can be applied. It may be necessary to use special pressure dressing or clothing after the surgery. This process can take up to 1 year.
The procedures applied in keloid treatment may need to be repeated every 2-3 years.
It is a less exaggerated form of wound healing than keloid. It is often confused with keloid. Hypertrophic scar differs from keloid in that it does not protrude beyond the wound boundaries. Other features are similar. The treatment approach is the same as for keloid.
Healing of wounds that cause burns and tissue loss may result in severe shrinkage of that area. This is called “Contraction”. Since the resulting contracture also affects the underlying tissues, there is limitation of movement in the joint areas.
Contractures caused by burns or other causes can only be corrected with surgery. After the tissue causing the contracture is completely removed, the wound is closed with skin transplantation or tissue shifting methods called flaps such as Z-Plasty and W-Plasty. Tissue expansion methods are used when necessary. Physical therapy may be required after surgery.
Even if the scars of surgery or injury on the face are not in the form of hypertrophic scars, they may be a cosmetic problem because they are visible. The treatment is the same. The scar can be adjusted to normal facial lines or hidden by surgery. However, it can never be destroyed. Suggested methods other than surgery may help make it less obvious. There is no treatment that completely destroys scars with surgical and non-surgical methods. The goal should simply be to provide a more acceptable appearance.
After scar revision surgery, the doctor’s recommendations should be strictly followed, especially sunlight should be avoided. It should be kept in mind that the degree of improvement to be achieved with the surgery depends on the size of the wound, the anatomical location of the wound, the quality of the skin structure, the color of the person, whether he smokes or not, the post-operative care, the initial appearance will not be pleasant, and the recovery may take 6-12 months.
It is a topical silicone gel for the prevention and treatment of scars, abnormal scar development in the form of hypertrophic scars and keloids.
